Opening credits in Cinemascope, the film in pan and scan!
It's too bad this film was presented in pan and scan on this DVD. It was filmed in Cinemascope as indicated during the opening credits which is displayed in 2.35:1. Once that is done, the film goes to a chopped up 1.33:1 pan and scan. I hope the Twentieth Century Fox corrects this down the road. It is a shame in this day and age with the large widescreen televisions we have at home, that a DVD is being released like this. I have other DVD-R's from Warner Home Video, MGM and Sony, and their widescreen films are shown in widescreen as they should be. Unless you really want to see this film, skip the DVD and wait for a proper release.
The film is a great, almost noir-esque suspense/drama. Barbara Eden has never looked better!
7/10 for the film.
2/10 for the DVD.
