Very Nice Looking DVD of a Hard To See Title
A wonderful cast in an OK comedy. The best thing to report with this one is that it appears the studio did a recent transfer from film elements. Regardless, contrast levels are very good and video noise is kept at bay most of the time. It's not quite up to the picture quality of RINGS ON HER FINGERS, but it's close. If you're a fan of the film you should be delighted by this DVD-R.
short but decent light comedy
Lynn Bari is the daughter of a veteranarian. Charlotte Greenwood is the mother who is determined to marry her off to a rich suitor. Charles Ruggles enlists Cornel Wilde to break up the match mother has set with an older stuffed shirt. The comedy is best when Ruggles and Wilde are pitching obnoxiuos one liners in an attempt to break up the engaged couple. The second half of the film takes a less engaging turn but in all it is a pretty good little romantic comedy. If you like Wilde in other films like "It had to be you" with Ginger Rogers, you will like him here. Ruggles & Greenwood are very good as the folks. I like Bari alot but here she is basically the straight "man" with not alot to do. See her in good supporting roles in "China Girl" or "Margie".
